PRONTO! was the MVP to a broader health project in Ceará, Northeast coast of Brazil, developed and financed by Instituto Camboa in partnership with social startup SAS (Saúde e Alegria nos Sertões), and with the support of Rancho do Peixe. The project was aimed at alleviating the public health system (SUS) and safeguarding residents and tourists over the period of highest demand throughout the year.
The health service consisted of an emergency room, located at a strategic point on Praia do Preá, to attend to residents and tourists on basic health needs; an ambulance with an ICU and a doctor on site; a 4x4 vehicle with direct communication radio for rescue of accidents on the beach; and open doors for serious accidents that would be otherwise directed to SUS.
